Jason 303 50mm f/12.5
|
|
Anyone know anything about this little scope? I've seen a few around lately but have no idea when they were made or the quality.

Hi- sorry i don't have any direct experience with the 303, but I believe that is a circle "v" manufactured version. I have the earlier circle "t" model and it is very very VERY nice- the build quality is excellent and the objective is superb. From online images I found of a 303 it looks like the focuser and tripod are not nearly as nice as the older model.

Thanks for the good information. I'm gonna pass on the scope for now, but was curious as to how it performed.

Wow! That's the first time I've heard it suggested that Towa hardware was superior to Vixen.
Preston has even questioned the Towa origin of these 50mm jewels and might have alluded to a more "royal" lineage. This has not been confirmed, but there's no doubt that they are surprisingly good performers.
I took a gander at this one myself, but chose not to move on it.
