The new APO Markus brought to the show, that I was sorely tempted to get and didn't. By the way, he had a Meopta zoom in there (not well known over here but very fine optics) and a Lieca zoom - which proved to me it is worth the money they ask for it. Very very nice.

Here it is. Explore Scientific 30mm 100 degree prototype. The barrel is 3", and requires a custom diagonal. Shown next to the 30/82, which ain't exactly tiny:

Ball-park estimate from one of the ES reps: $1200.

Richard Taylor, inventor (AFAIK) of AstroTrac. Very cool mount. I was seriously tempted.

And no - my memory is NOT that good. I just made sure the name tags were visible in my pics...

Fantastic pictures; they are greatly appreciated by those of us that could not attend.

Wow! I thought my ES30 was huge!

Yup. No more "wimpy astronomer" comments if you own one of those - you could use it for arm curls...

I just happen to have a shot of the Lunt ED refractors.

The focusers were very nice. The knobs are larger than the standard Long Perng ones. I was told they are sourced from Taiwan. The coatings looked quite good, the focusers were smooth. They all come with cases. The 80mm has a slip on cap, while the 70mm and 102mm have thread- on caps which thread on to the sliding dew/ glare shields.

In person, the white pearl finish is very pretty- and a bit subtle. Ha and CaK kits are available for all of them (naturally).

Lunt has their offices across town from me. They said if I called ahead I can see them, though they don't have a formal showroom. It is possible to get a tour as well. And they sell scopes direct or via dealers.

Very handsom and good looking scopes, though.

Group shot. From left to right: The two Avalon mounts, 12" TEC RC (thanks for the scope info, Rich) on the 10Micron GM 1000 HPS, and the TEC 500 RC on an AP mount.

Vixen. I was so close to buying the GPD2, I could feel the plastic melting in my wallet.
Wife would have been not happy...

By the way, that smaller TEC RC is a 12" (yeah, from 2 feet away I was guessing 250mm, too. What's more, it's f/5.6! I've never heard of an RC that fast. Talking with Sergei and Yuri was fun, though. They have a little side project with these RCs to see what happens. They didn't bring refractors because they were afraid they'd just go away with a massive sheaf of orders (Very interesting discussion with Roland on that score).

That's amazing speed for an RC. The OTA struts are titanium for stiffness at low weight, though I would like folks to note that keeps the CTE down as well.

Their attitude is really cool- they'll do good work; it'll work out the way it works out, and they'll do something new from there.
