By the way, that smaller TEC RC is a 12" (yeah, from 2 feet away I was guessing 250mm, too... -Rich
Was that the scope on the 10Micron, to the left of the TEC 500?

Yes- the "Little One."
It was newer, and the petals for the primary mirror cover were a bit stiff, so I didn't get to see it opened up. The secondary is fairly large, as one would guess from the fast f/#.
The petals on the larger scope were milled for weight on the interior side- it wasn't made with plain 1/4" plate.

OK - I've got insomnia and a stuffed-up head; might as well use the time for something constructive.
Wide shot of the show. Main entrance is on the extreme left side. Far wall, left to right: Lunt, Starlight Instruments, Optec. Foreground is OPT.

Same position, 90 degrees right. Opt on the left, Celestron right. CN was behind the Celestron booth, Hotech next to us. Honestly can't remember who was down that aisle (although William Optics was supposed to be right behind Opt... scheduling snafu). If anyone remembers, please chime in.

Next aisle right (last aisle): Fli left, Springer Publishing next, followed by Lowell Observatory. Can't remember who was visible in this shot on the right, but AP, TEC, Starizona, and Avalon were on that side farther down. Relative planet size demo and the planetarium at the far end.

Center of the expo, from the left wall, facing right. Left is ES, followed by Vixen; AstroTrac is to the left of Vixen, followed by Kielder Observatory, then Kitt Peak. Right is Planewave, followed by DSP. Starizona on the far wall. Relative planet size display visible left background. Left extreme foreground (you can see the corner of the display, but that's it) was Apogee.
Last of the widefield shots - I got distracted (BIG surprise... )

We overheard one of the solar telescope guys saying that he had over $40,000 invested in his outfit. I'm not sure which scope was his.
I turned to my wife and said "See, I don't spend so much on my astro gear after all." That got me a sour look.

Whenever my wife and I discuss me buying a new scope, we think back 15 years when I used to buy and sell airplanes.
Astronomy is relatively inexpensive and there is very little annual maintenance required for a telescope and mount.

Wally Pacholka is there on the right and Astronomers Without Borders was further down. Something else was there- I'm trying to remember what.

Many of those photos must have been shot when the astronaut or the meteor guys were talking as the aisle are pretty clear. Once a popular talk let out the place was packed.

I took the widefields first thing Saturday morning, before the crowds filed in. IIRC before 9am. Really should have shot an entire set, but it was my first astro expo, and I was like a kid in a candy store.
I'll be more disciplined next year - promise.
I might ask Alan for early access on day one - it would only take half an hour or so to shoot a full set of widefields and all the individual booths.

I've got the Vendor guide, but it's sorted alphabetically, not by booth number - and many of the vendors had more than one booth. Trying to figure out who was where is turning out to be a pain in the rear. I'll dig further if I get some time.

You can reverse engineer the guide by looking at the booth number on the map and then looking the numbers up in the alphabetical list...
Very nice photos, everyone! I mostly took people pics and not booth pics, I figured y'all would take care of things.
