John,

Very Nice collection! May I ask with which scopes you use your Nagler T4's? My reason for asking is, I'm considering filling in the gaps in my collection with the 22T4 and 17T4. I already have the 12T4 and use it extensively as my Sweet Spot EP in my 80mm f/6 APO Triplet and I love it. Plus I'm planning on adding an Orion XT10i f/4.7 when funding permits and I'm trying to buy gear that will work well with both scopes.

Paco, the T4's are KILLER in a XT10i... so much so that I rebought them after having sold off my 12T4 back when I got my Ethos...

If you like the 12T4, you'll like the other two, 100% guaranteed...

clear enough skies

With the current sale on the Meade 5000 SWA's, I'm surprised no one has posted their whole collection. I already had the set which included the 16, 24 and 34 in an aluminum case. Once they went on sale I had no choice but to fill the empty spots in the case with the rest of the series.

The family is finally together:

Beautiful set Tony.

Strange that the 40mm is smaller than the 32mmm

Noticed that too; it would have been a perfect stairway to heaven if not for this.

Best,

I owned that set, but not all at one time.
My favorite was the 21mm. It produced a perfect exit pupil and well-corrected image in my scopes of the time. And the polish on the lenses was superb--the center of the field was exquisitely well focused and corrected.
Only a few eyepieces I've owned since have come close.

I thought that it was very odd that the 40mm is smaller than the 32mm as well. When i first started to seek them out i thought there was possibly two versions of the EP because it didnt really make to much sense to me!
I wonder what the explanation of the 40mm being smaller?
If anyone could chime in on that it would be great! I might have to ask Mr. Al!

My (completely uneducated) guess is that they couldn't keep the scalar design at 40mm and stay in 1.25" format, so they had to redesign the glass. (The 55mm 2" appears to return to the scalar relationship with all the other 1.25s...)

In any case, a very elegant set!

Jim
