Look at these 2 images (both are used on the Astronomics 9mm TMB PII page.... and similar confusion reigns on the 5, 6 and 7mm pages):
http://www.astronomics.com/images/Product/large/16543.jpg
http://www.astronomics.com/images/Product/large/16543_1_.jpg
They are not the same eyepiece! So which one are Astronomics shipping?
I called Astronomics and they confirmed that the eyepiece(s) that will be shipped is the one with the big f/l in the smooth part of the rubber-knurled grip. I.e: http://www.astronomics.com/images/Product/large/16543.jpg

Good to know. I trust Astronomics to get us the correct eyepieces...little misleading with the image confusion though.

These two links have three images look to me to be of the same eyepiece. The first link has two views:
* from the front with the eye guard screwed down;
* from the back with the eye guard extended.
The second link has a single image, from the back, with the eye guard down.
I am not surprised that Astronomics are dropping these eyepieces given confusion caused by clones which seem to be inferior to the Astronomics TMB (R) product. There are now several competing eyepieces designs (like the Astro-Tech Paradigm), however they will be missed.

Chris...Again, they are NOT "dropping" the eyepieces. They are simply removing the eyepieces from the website as they sell out of them. Was told this is to keep their sanity because there will be no raincheck on the eyepieces at this price. They will get more TMB Planetarys later but they will sell for the normal price.

My 8mm should be shipping today. Turns out if you use a Visa gift card for an online purchase you need to call the number on the back of the card and register your zip code otherwise it will come up declined. Lesson learned! Not like I've had the seeing to use this guy lately anyway.

Ordered the 5 mm EP on Friday and received it today. An excellent service. The EP looks great and will be tested, weather-permitting, tonight. I don't know what's all the fuss with "fake" TMB-P2Es but all of us who bought them from Astronomics and preserve the proof of purchase should not worry in case of future resale.

I also ordered on the 24th and have not received my EP's. Shipping is 1-4 days, but I don't remember a quoted handling time. I'm just impatient. haha

I own the 3.2mm, 4mm, 6mm, and 9mm first gen EP's.
I am very happy with the performance. I imagine the 2nd gen are even better.
Grab them while you can!

I own the 2.5mm, 3.2mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm and 9mm of various generations. I like them, they're not type 6 Naglers but they are definitely good eyepieces.
