Orion 50mm widefield
      #335444 - 02/06/05 09:22 PM Attachment (376 downloads)

Here is a preview of a Orion widefield pic I'm processing... Sorry for the larger size, but I think that it is worth the extra time.

Technical Data:
Canon F1 Camera, Canon nFD 50mm f/1.4 at f/4.0.
3x 20min, median stacked. Fuji Provia 400F, pushed two steps. They were taken in dec 2003, but haven't time to scan and process them untill now.

It was completelly processed in PixInsight, standard edition.

I want to enhance some nebulosities and other large scale features with waavelets, but I'mm just too tired right now. Your comments are highly appreciated.

That's really beautiful, you must have really dark skies down there to capture "The Pumpkin" so clearly. A bow to your processing skills too, of course!

Thanks Suk Lee!

There is a lot of information! At full resolution you can clearly see the Witch Head.

As soon as I finish it (I want to delete the stars prior the wavelets processing... I'm too tired to do that now) I'll upload some crops at full size.

Fantastic image. I wish i had the skies you do. I doubt i would get anywhere close to the depth you have in this image from my home. I am going to try though. My DCM2 just arrived.

Corn:I notice you have a bar door,i have a power barn door which has a 6x30 finder.Do you think a telrad type finder would work better for alignment to the polars.I tryed the green lite which worked real good.

I canīt see polaris (due to buildings) so I normaly align it roughly with a compass and then drift align by taking a few shots with the DSLR. With film it gets a bit more complicated since you need longer exposures and canīt see the result right away. I donīt think the telrad will be better than the 6x30 finder. You should get x6 better precision with the finder.

Cheers
