I got this 'old' C-14" in the mail, and since it needed a lot of LTC, I just started to dismantle the whole unit, and decided to do the whole 9 yards. I also installed handles on the back, since the SCT didn't had any, and spay painted the back and frond part. The SCT has a locked mirror inside with a collar, first I wanted to undo this 'locking' situation, but since it's missing parts, I will assemble it the way it was before and buy a Moonlite focuser instead. The unit has 3 fans on the inside and 2 - 3" fans on the outside, the bolts are already installed waiting for the coolers and heat sinks to arrive. Since Hawaii does not cary telescope parts, I'm waiting on: - Low light Proto star flocking material - Peltier coolers - Heat sinks - Focuser - Rail and rings for guide scope - view finder (type losmandy rings - quick release), If you have any suggestions please do let me know.
