Hi all,
I bring to your attention one more full lunar image taken on July, 25th, 2008 in the prime focus of 3m. Mosaic of 16 images. The full size (3315x4646, 2.8MB) is here:

A magnificent effort as usual Yuri!
I especially like Sinus Iridium. And the tonal scale is superb - I just keep on blowing out the highlights, so it's nice to be reminded that it's just a matter of skill and not optics that causes that issue.
Oh, and the crispness towards the extreme edge of the moon - just outstanding!

Yuri Will please stop posting your lunar images on this forum! You're behaviour is completely unreasonable and I think you will find is again the TOC of this forum. If you look carefully at the TOC you will see that it clearly states "no member shall post any picture of the Moon that are so utterly brilliant and breathtakingly good as to make any other member (me) think 'why the hell they should bother even thinking about imaging the said Moon'".
Please stop!!!!!

A beautiful panorama - I enjoyed it more once I flipped it around 180 degrees, but I'm old fashioned!
thanks for sharing, Alan

Thanks guys.
To kiarash: We always give the info about the equipment on the photo. But on such a big image it is easy for small letters to get lost. Our setup: Maksutov-Cassegrain Santel, D=230mm, F=3000mm, Unibrain Fire-i 702 CCD mono camera (IEEE-1394, 1388x1040pix, 10fps).

Yuri,
I can only add: splendid processing!! and a hard job of course!!!
Processing this level makes this job looks naturally spectacular!... I can barely spot three craterlets (at least through my monitor) on Plato...but going further would ruin the natural look you've gotten(possibly with more gain at the capture time, more image scale, or more iterations at the processing time)...CONGRATS!!
Best regards,
David

Awesome! What always gets me about shots like this, is the suggestion of just how many past impacts the Earth has also probably taken, long since eroded away or buried. Even if you assume half or a third the number for the sake of argument, its an incredible number of events in our past. Bombardment is not an understatement.
