IO shadow just passed on GRS. I begun capture too late. IO almost left Jupiter. unfortunately, seeing very very poor, not a good result. I took all moons together in processing. They line as the time, from up to low are one, two, three and four.
I use:Skywatcher DOB10+TV5X+ASI120MM

Thanks! You are here as me,we have the same daylight. It hard to get a good seeing in winter, even a sunny day.

I need one of those cameras; it seems so much better than my old NexImage!

I said that, because if seeing became more worse, the AS2 will lost power. Here is an example at same night. It hard to align. And just cant get a result.

No secrets,I think. Since I learn from here ,all steps you can find from here. But some habit will be individuality. If more,my poor English not support me.

Don't worry about your English, you are doing fine! Your English is much better than my Mandarin, Cantonese, or whatever other languages you happen to speak. =)
I am continually impressed by these Jupiter images with the ASI120 and 10" scope. You have set a good goal for me! Thank you!

The later one. Shadow of IO left GRS. Maybe seeing better(even Jupiter low attitude),or telescope match temperature.

You are probably using APs that are way too small and/or not in the correct position. Perhaps you can post a screenshot of AS!2 when you processed that recording? I attached an example of what it more or less should look like.
(Would it perhaps be possible that you send me this blue recording? I'm interested in trying some new things in AS!2 on it)

No, doesn't look overkill or crazy to me.
I found this works pretty well most of the time. I actually always use a scheme like this on Jupiter, and know of several others who use a similar scheme. Sometimes with smaller APs, sometimes with less and larger APs (noise blue channels). Sometimes I even add some extra small APs over shadows of a moon or on a moon itself , but I'm always sure that the feature is stable enough to handle that.
But most of the time something like this works well.

HI,Emil. I know how to avoid this align problem just as you pointed. I say that because when I face this problem then mean I cant get a nice result from them. I found for a pic,for example, if size 100 AP will give best detail, when I use 100 cause problem(like this I post, usually only part of edge show problem),I will ignore them. AS2 work quite well.I use it chose best video and later stack.Of course,if it can make a precise stack from bad seeing video, that not bad. If you still want to get this video,I will send to you.I just got your post before I del it. unfortunately, the file large as usually.

This number of APs seems reasonable to me. In fact I was using ~75 APs until recently when Steve and Glenn pointed out that a smaller number might work better. In my testing 30 APs was never any worse than 75, and in above average seeing 30 was very slightly better. Not much, but if you looked close you could see the difference. So considering that it runs faster to boot, I'll be sticking with ~30 for Jupiter.
