The Australian imagers well be very good positioned having all the planets really high in the sky... are you guys in the Northern Hemisphere going to travel south to get a better picture ? It's nice to live in Brussels I think I'll try to hunt down the planets when I get a chance. I would make it a somewhat longer trip (4 weeks or so), and then just focus on planetary imaging. It sits pretty much in the middle of the ecliptic around the celestial equator. I sure hope some other mysterious tragedy befalls that light soon. So, check list for the next 8 years: - Enjoy Jupiter while it's still high in the sky - Get the best optics & improve telescope's thermal behaviour. - Find the best observing locations and study the relationship between seeing and weather (measuring the seeing with DIMM at several sites now). - Get a bigger scope for Uranus!
