Psion,
Congrats! How does the inside of the OTA look? Any dust, cobwebs, or spiders in there? I look forward to your 1st light report.

Hi Psion, congrats on the new scope.
What are those extra Meade stickers top and bottom on the front edge of the tube? I don't have those on my scope.
I am truly jealous of your weather. I have had one clear night in the last 6 weeks. Looks like I am going to miss another moonless night too this month

Thanks guys for your congrats . The top sticker is name of telescope and the US patents and bottom is the metal card with S/N. Maybe this is version for Europe only.

Nice...
The "Sticker and Plaque" are on the back of the OTA only. They are placed under the base of the fork-mounted scopes.

As far as I know Meade Europe individually tests the LX200R OTA's, so the sticker might be their proof for that. Psion, would you please measure the image shift of your primary?! I contacted Meade Europe, they have a 2 month backlog for the LX200R OTA's.
Levente
P.s: congrats for your new scope. Please do let us know your impressions.

The collimating was without problem and focussing didn't have influence on collimating (also another position of the focus point). Collimation was not perfect but I have collimated without CCDInspector (only from my eyes). You can see first the test picture of M27, 30s with Canon 300D (unguided), ISO 800, without reducer (only IRcut filter), dark frame.
I have seen open cluster NGC869 and stars were pinpoint edge to egde in the big FOV( Nagler 13mm).
I am very glad from this telesscope - great equipment!!

Heavy stuff! I was thinking of the 12" and put it on my G11. I think that will be max what my mount can handle.

The telescope is very short and for the G11 it is not problem.

They seem to be much better compered to the older LX200, maybe close to a Maksutov in performence?

I have installed Bob's Knobs after.
Concerning performance - LX200R is much better than the SCT LX200 or a Maksutov (pinpoint stars edge to edge in FOV 82°). The LX200R is very good for a large CCD chips (APS format without vigneting) and flat FOV is 3 times better compare to a SCT, MAK or Newton .

Psion, what amount of image shift do you experience in your LX200R?
