Weather is now improving so there are more opportunities to observe. Finally, we managed to go to our favorite observing site - Petrova gora (Peters' mountain) - 492 m (1,613 ft) tall mountain about 65 km south from the Zagreb. Skies are wonderful there, LM is around 6.2 - 6.4, depending on humidity. We also managed to see shadow that was casted by the Sirius. Amazing experience. It was quite chilly with temperatures around -5°C so we didn't stayed to long. Around midnight our observing session was over. This is sketch of the M51 and NGC 5195. Although it was just 30° over horizon it was fantastic sight in my new 12" dob. Click on sketch for larger version. The Rosetta was wonderful through 2" WA 68° eyepiece and OIII filter. This sketch doesn't do the justice to it. Last link leads to the sketch of M65 & M66. Unfortunately, my fingers where really frostbited while I was doing sketch so NGC 3628 was left out. At this point I just wanted to go home to warm bed. I hope that you will like sketches. My apologies for bad English. First is M41 - not good as Rodelaet since I don't have telescope with wide field of view next si NGC 2903 with 12" Dob, third is "The UFO" galaxy, NGC 2683, and last from the galaxies is M106. M106 was placed in light polluted part of sky so it is rather poor sketch. M109 was barely visible in 12" scope I have made another sketch around two weeks ago. It is a sketch of Ariadeus Rille. Its at the bottom of the page.
