Hello all ,
This is a result of my last observing session.
We were observing in our usual spot at Negev desert (Israel). Sky was transparent and dark. I was with a 8" Orion SkyView pro Newt. It took me rather long time to sketch these 2 objects, Probably due to frequent coffee brakes and chat with friends .
M17 is one of my favourite nebulae, which is really bright and shows nice detail (especially with UHC filter).
Information about the technique and other drawings can be found in my website, in the signature.

And the M13 (which I already posted in contest ).
It's my second attempt (after M4) to sketch a globular. Didn't have the courage to draw this one before.
I guess the most challenging part was to try and make the "Propeller" look properly realistic.

Fantastic sketches Michael! You have a lot of accuracy. And I like the way you draw your stars into the field. They look like they would in an astroimage.
Hope to see more of your work in the future!

Beautiful sketches, both of them. I have to admit, to me you're one of the few good sketches out there. Keep up the excellent work, good luck in the contest - I already voted

Beautiful sketches, Michael! I love how you render your stars and the delicate colors in them. I always find tending to stars and their coloration a challenge. Your M17 sketch is particularly beautiful and a true pleasure to study. Many thanks for sharing.

Oh wow, this is a wonderful sketch of the Swan Nebula! That is exactly as it looks to me from a dark site. The variance of the colors and sizes of the stars give your sketches a lot of depth.

Michael,
Outstanding observations of M13 and M17. You have recorded the core and extensions of M13 very nicely. The core and extensions of the Swan Nebula are well rendered. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Michael,
These are wonderful drawings--nicely presented, too. I'm really taken with how you rendered the nebulosity in the northern part of the field in the drawing of M17.
You were very meticulous with the drawing of M13--one of the best I've seen. I'm impressed that you were distracted by having friends around and still produced such nice work. I would have a hard time doing that.

Actually while drawing I need to take brakes from time to time, since I'm quite an impatient person

Wow !!! Nice sketches !!! I myself have about 6 photo albums full of drawings at the eyepiece. It's always nice to reflect back on your observations and seeing conditions, etc.
