Top sketching Jef. Globulars demand a lot of patience and its easy to 'stipple away' and miss the shapes and chains. You have captured these extremely well and I envy the view thru your 'big dob'!!

Jef, splendid work! How long did it take you to finish the M13 sketch? I've been sketching for a while, but haven't yet had the nerve to tackle globular clusters. I'm figuring my first attempts will be spread out over several sessions on the same drawing.

Chris, ev2 and Jason: thanks!

It took me an hour sketching. It is impossible to put every star on paper. Try to catch the essential (although I find that very difficult to do).

Jef,

I am trying to get caught up on some of these posts and it was a real pleasure to see your globular cluster sketches. They take a lot of effort and yours are nicely done.

Thanks guys! I'm for the moment on holiday on a dark location and spend 3 nights just hopping around with a small bino. Incredible what you can see far away from lightpollution, even with small aperture!! No sketch yet...
