New live captures on NSN new [Re: Chris A]
      #6098483 - 09/24/13 01:24 PM Attachment (17 downloads)

Just posting some images from last nights live NSN broadcast using my VRC 10" scope, MCX2, Miloslick and a Lumicon Deep Sky Filter. These were relatively short exposers of a few stacked on the fly live using Miloslick. Adjustments to the video settings, histogram and filters such as amp glow mask were applied live on the fly. No post processing was done. these were seen as is on NSN. Thank you in advanced for having a look

And the last one NGC 891. Again all seen live on NSN as is. Exposure times are on upper left corner of all images. AGC used was 3 and there was a 77% phase moon up high esp. when capturing M33 & NGC 891. Thank you!

Chris

Nice work man. Really very nice , but these captures do not look as good as what I saw while you were broadcasting. Looked way better live. Can't say why that it is, but it is.

Hi Thank you Jim for letting me know and that is important. Perhaps it is the Miloslick image capturing that is not capturing the live image on the screen as good and I will try in the future Screen Shot Pilot. Have a great time at ECVAR and clear skies to you all there!

Chris A

Had another chance to get some Broadcasting done on Night Skies Network on a rare clear night last night (well, tonight but it's 3 in the morning now).

I remembered to grab a few screen grabs this time. I often forget.

I was using a Skywatcher 6" f5 Achro with an Astro-Physics 2.7" Focuser, and an Astro-Physics 2.7" 0.3x Telecompressor (Astrophotography Focal Reducer/Flattener), EQ6 mount, Mallincam Xtreme Camera with an Astronomiks 'L' series UV/IR block filter, and Minus Violet Filter to kill the Violet glow around the brighter stars because of the scope being an Achromat.

The sky was fairly foggy all night which hampered getting sharp stars, but all up I am pleased with the results considering the rubbish I was looking through.

All are un-processed Screen Grabs straight from the Broadcast.

I'll behave, honest. I don't think everyone should suffer that 'other' screen grab Jim grabbed

Thanks everyone. Yeah, it was another good, and fun, broadcast.
Lots of viewers from around the world and later on when it quietened down a bit all the regulars started rolling in

Sorry I had to cut it short due to the views degrading. I thought it was all due to fog, but when I was packing up I noticed the Scope had dewed up
