I know most of you ATMs are proud of the neat scopes that you have built down through the years! But lets see the places from whence your scopes were born! I know that some of you have workshops of various types-places where you put your projects togather! And dont be shy cause it might be a bit messy-because mine is( I call it Organized Chaos).I've got a few projects going on, such as the Reflector Versa-Ped and the Refractor Versaped. Taking one at a time.Something to get the New year started !! Gary

good thread!
when (not if!) the atm happens it will be here; slowly getting organised. my nmsu allsky cam computer is to the right of the hydraulic press. my cg5/200mm newtonian are hidden behind the toolchest. prior to the cg5, i had made an embarrassingly bad mount.
merry xmas

What you guys are showing are WAY too clean and organized compared to my SJ (Sanford Junkplace). Maybe I'll post a pic after Christmas Day, if I get the nerve.

Here is an ancient thread on the same subject from 2006
ATM CN Workshops
Mine did not really change until this year when everything has been dismantled for a 250 mile move to a new location that will be finalized in the summer of 2013. Almost everything has been moved to my new house in Iowa.
But the old thread is still pretty good. Lots of people that have unfortunately disappeared.

My Neighbor gave me that old Tek storage scope, but his son robbed all the tubes out of it for his audio equipment! One of these days I might find enough tubes to restore it. I also have a Tek 454 and a Tek 465 that work quite well.

That old scope brings back memories. I remember turning one on at work early on every cold winter morning, and leaning against it to get warm. They cranked out some serious heat from vacuum tubes.

I sometimes see on ebay NOS tubes in bulk assorted lots, there were lots of TV repairman, etc. that had these. I know one who's got box of tubes is 99% full of NOS tubes. Looks like yours would be really really old ones though.
Ok to stay on topic, I promise a pic of my shop when it's ready in a few months.

A lot of 6DJ8 tubes in this era Tek scope...read $$$. That is why they are often stripped of their tube.

That looks like a Polaris mount. I just converted mine to an alt-az for my C102f. No pics yet.
No counterweight?

Yep, it's a Polaris. I normally run it in alt-az mode, but had it set up as an EQ for the photo op. I guess I forgot the counterweight.......

I'm going to be selling that washer/dryer soon, so that will free up some more space.
