Degree symbol?
      #388409 - 03/28/05 04:25 PM

This may be a silly question... but I am still kinda new at this.

I saw in a post a while back the symbol for degrees noted in a post. I have searched and can not seem to find the reference. Can someone plaese post the sequence of keys (key combination or UBBCode) that will result in the raised degree symbol? I really don't want to use an asterisk " * " in my post if the symbol could be used.

Thanks,
Mark

On a US keyboard, that would be ALT-SHIFT-; (yielding °).

That works for me, though the alt-shift-minus doesn't.

Interesting! Alt 248 also works only for me on the number pad, as well. Whomever programmed this one must not have had a ° in computer science. Oh, wait, wrong kind of degree. Maybe that was the problem. They were cold.

Okay, now I'm really jealous! How did you get the "÷" symbol? Hey, what the heck??? The quote above isn't correct. That's not what I pasted in there. What's goin on here?? I pasted in your line of text and look what the computer did to it...no numbers at all.

Was your message coded by the way? Oh, I see...cool!

Holding the Alt key while typing 248 on the keypad works just fine for me too.

It was 73° today.
Finally got it to work, but I had to hold down SHIFT ALT 248 (on keypad).
