No observing at all since I have arrived , cloudy, rainy and very windy. Thursday/friday might clear up enough to get some viewing in. Will have to wait and see.

Well, be sure to take a ride out to Tortuga's Lie and get some great seafood anyway.

How were the traveling conditions on HI? We've been going to Avon every September for the last 15 years. I heard that getting below Rodanthe on NC12 has been tough since Sandy.

We took the swan quarter ferry and came up from ocracoke, 18 hours to get there from central pa (that includes ferry waits and arriving early to get in line) rt.12 was open all week for 5-6 hours or so in between high tides, but overwashed every high tide. Once on HI traveling was fine, alot was closed this thanksgiving, we had thanksgiving at Goodwinds in Rodanthe, very good!! We left a day early on the Rodanthe-Stumpy point ferry to cut our trip down to 10 hours.
