Right now I keep my Pentax 10x50s in the car for a quick peak while I'm out seeing patients (always at night) especially those who live out in the darker wooded areas, but I'm thinking about putting the GO 20x80s and the Manfrotto in the car. I keep a Brunton Echo monocular in a small side compartment in my car,also have B&L 10x25 Legacy roof that I picked up for a song, rather good for what it is, that goes in the glove box, both are removed in very hot weather,Dave.

The ones I use most are in the car. I also use them for astronomy because I always forget to pack binoculars for astronomy. So currently those are the 10x43 Pentax DCF SPs.

The 10x50 DCF SPs are in the house. I really should switch them, but the smaller pair is better for birding. Maybe I'll switch them "one of these days."

I suppose I should be worried about theft but it's rare to have a car broken into in my part of the world. I'm sure it happens. But probably to cars that look a good deal nicer than mine.

I used to keep a pair of the inexpensive Celestron upclose 10x50 binocs in the car, but ended up giving those away, so now at the moment, nothing.

I keep a pair of Bushnell 10X40 binos in the car during my day. I work in rural home health and drive through beautiful, wild country (at night the area is in a Black Zone!). I often want to get a look at birds or other wildlife and wanted something cheap that I won't worry if it gets knocked around and eventually loses collimation. I paid $37.37 tax included from Wal Mart. They are definitely not as good as my $300 Eagle Optics 8x42 roof prisms, or Optalyth 10X50, but for having something ready at all times that I don't worry about damaging or being stolen they serve very well.

This is bad but at present I have a 10x35 e2 in the front floor, & pentax 8x36 under the seat on my other car

10X42 Nikons (my 'work' binos) and a small pair of compact 7X32s (Bushnell).

An old pair of Pentax 7x50s. they're pretty good, actually...but not up to par with my modern favorites, the Nikon SEs.

A 1963 vintage, KOMZ 8 X 30 Binocular that I recently picked up in a knick-knack shop for £10 (about $15.oo).
Its in mint condition, and looks like it came out of a time capsule.

Which I returned after testing them. Poor edge performance; the outer 40% is unacceptable...

I have been carrying a pair of Bushnell Powerview 8x21s in my backpack for years. They came with a small case which also holds my compass. Quite to potent combination that has come in handy on more than one occasion.

I've never considered a car boot / trunk to be an appropriate location in which to leave binoculars indefinitely .

I used to keep the odd one in either the glove compartment or inside an air - tight plastic picnic box ( which provides better protection from heat ) but don't even do either of those things these days .

Nowadays , I prefer to keep my binoculars locked away , out of sight , out of mind , apart from the rare occasions when I may feel inclined to look at something through one of them .

I just feel I haven't enough spare time these days to keep up with reading messages to this and other forums AND get out there and actually look through binoculars .
