I'm 5'4"; everytime I take a bow, I hit my head.
Rydberg is right about how you shouldn't feed the curmudgeons. But, every time I get a report about how I have helped someone avoid some of the shams of the optical world, it helps make my wretched existence seem a bit more worthwhile. Thank you.

Umesh - Side question. Did you tear your rubber grips to pieces when removing them? or can you still glue them onto the bins?

I managed to remove them both, pretty much in tact, am sure we can glue them back. The rubber grips are not glued all over but at few spots so that one can attend to the collimation screws without too much trouble.
try a small screw driver or something that you can slide between the binoc body and the rubber grip and work it from there, am sure you can remove it without damaging it much, but be a bit more careful while undoing at the edges that's where the rubber grip might tear if it does tear.
I have not found a suitable glue to stick these back onto the binoc, I dont want to use any harsh glue and burn the rubber, so will update that as soon as i find a suitable one.

Try a good quality. "no-wrinkle" rubber cement.

I found a glue that just works like a charm, just couple of drops and the rubber grip is stuck to the body in 2 seconds... just fantastic! tried many other rubber based adhesives but non of them seem to work.
This glue costs 5 Rupees (less then 10 cents)for 5ml squeeze strip.
I have attached a pic of the adhesive.

Thank you for posting the pictures Umesh. The 2nd screw is lower than where I thought it would be.

How do we remove the central banner on the post, so we can get at the eyepieces?

Are we saying with some shared knowledge we can go from Fujinon -> Celestron 15x70?

I see collimation is apparently a major issue with these binoculars, but with mine it's all the other optical problems.
Chromatic aberration is a definite problem with red and blue fringing. It's particularly noticeable during the day, since mine serve double duty looking out over a large body of water.
For stargazing, the major issue of concern is that there's also a fair amount of distortion moving away from the centre towards the edge of the field, vaguely coma-like. Stars first start to become triangular and then become like flattened lines near the edge, though it's a bit hard to say exactly what is going on due to the chromatic aberration kicking in as well. My guess is astigmatism, possibly combined with some coma.
I've also got a pair of late Soviet/early Russian military 7x50s (Tento) which have nice pin point stars almost right to the edge. The difference is quite amazing. I just wish I had bought the 10x50 version back then.
