I don't know much about old German binoculars but English language markings on the prism cover? Seems a bit odd. They must have known there would be a good used market in the English speaking world eventually...

Ok sorry people some would not know.
This is a typical Japanese porro from the 1960's being sold as something it will never aspire too.
For a start no service binocular other than emergency additions in time of shortage had central focus.

Well, at least they spelled "Dienstglas" correctly.I've seen other Japanese binos with it spelled all kinds of ways. This stuff still fools gullible people today who will think this is a German WWII binocular or Carl Wetzlar and Kurt Muller binoculars are made in Germany.

I wonder if the day will ever come when some brands will bear Chinese sounding names to make them appear as if they were really made in China?

"it will happen-the question is how soon "

The question is which country will copy them...Burma? Which country pays less or treats workers worse than china?

I'm with Mark Simon, appear from the Eng txt I wouldn't have picked it...I do remember Cory telling me dienstglas was a decent glass

If it is 100mm then why 80mm in description. Also the FOV would be around 3+ degree if the it is f<1.5 ....... Very complicated specification

'Prinz' was the brand-name that was used on binoculars sold by the Dixon's photographic chain. Never seen a good one.
