You've peaked my interest here as well and I will be getting a copy Rick. I'd like to bring up a couple of points as I see it...
1. UFO's are just that, unidentified. No evidence for extraterrestrial origins.
2. Amature astronomers knowing the size and nature of the universe are pretty closed minded if they think the possibility that ET exists is zero.
3. The "lights in the sky" comments should be scrutinized more closely. Many, many UFO sightings are made by professional pilots as well as a few astronauts. They are trained observers by trade...think about that.
4. UFO sightings being military aircraft...while many, many are confirmed military sightings, the logic that ALL are top secret military aircraft doesn't hold up. The military doesn't fly its secret gear over highly populated areas at slow speed for all to see! Yet many sighting describe this exact scenario. In addition, a few sightings such as at Rendlesham Forest UK, involved military personnel having a close encounter with a UFO...surely if it was a secret project gone bad those military members would have never come forward and put our nations secrets at risk. It was something else. I tend to disregard the "Jethro" sightings, but I pay close attention to commercial airline pilots, military pilots, military personnel and the like. Does the FAA and Gov't really expect me to think these professionals are nuts?
5. The "Arizona Lights" that were video taped were Air Force High Intensity Flares, Period. I've worked with them. However, the sightings that occured all over the state thru out the night moving slow in V formation...?
The above are simply my views on the topic. Don't bother to engage me in debate, I will not respond. Its like politics and religion...
Bottom line for me...there is NO evidence for UFO's being of ET origin. Incidently, I'm more intrigued by the idea that the Nazi's of WWII had quite an advanced aerospace program. And, at least in Kenneth Arnolds sighting, I believe he saw our captured Hilter's Stealth. In addition the Kecksburg PA crash may have been captured Nazi technology of the "Bell" design. Is my mind open to the possiblity that they could be ET? How could it not be, knowing what I know of the universe? I like "Fox Mulder's" poster in his office..."I want to Believe"...but wheres the evidence?

Yep, Discovery Channel did a special last summer on it titled "Hitlers Stealth"...I believe alot of UFO sightings post WWII are actually the technology we acquired from the Germans...I'm glad Hitler was the dummkopf he was because by the numbers, the WORLD would have been speaking German for a Thousand years otherwise!!! A fleet of Hortons were being developed to deliver the Wunderwaffen (wonder weapon, aka. nukes) to the good old USA!?!?! So, not only was Germany about to be capable of delivering a nuke intercontinentally, due to the stealth, we wouldn't even have seen them coming!!!

Not only were they not even close to the Bomb, several of the men who could have made it a reality made sure it didn't become one, and other men who could have made it a reality were run out of Germany--or worse.

Interesting, I’ve never heard of the 1952 Washington D.C. UFO incident prior to this post.
I suspect the crewmembers of those UFO's, involved the 1952 Washington D.C. UFO incident, were just trying to catch the last showings of the 1951 movie, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL before it stopped playing in the Washington D.C. area theaters. Apparently they couldn’t find a place to park without having their vehicles molested.

Trust me. The Extra Terrestrials won’t waste the energy to come all that way to see those two videos even if parking without vehicle molestation is available.

This morning (14 April 2011) BBC Radio 5 broadcast an interesting 3 min 18 sec interview: UFO sightings have been made public by the FBI.
Matt Frei talks to Bill Birnes, host of the History Channel documentary series UFO Hunter, about the release of previously classified documents that show the
British and US governments have been investigating UFO sightings for years. Mr Birnes says that in his own investigations, he has come across evidence of "other worldly" objects.
And finally, here is the Brittish RAF releasing their UFO files (2 March 2011) -- In pictures: UFOs files seen for the first time.

I only checked out your last link (darned dial-up line!) but I didn't actually see anything very convincing there...
But, as far as the governments continuing to investigate UFO's, it would be incredibly naive to believe that any government would allow any unidentified air traffic in its air space without investigation. Whatever they finally turn out to be, the government is either responsible for it, or is paying close attention to it, I'd bet money on that. (In fact, my taxes are undoubtedly paying for it!)
