Thanks for the heads up on this... I just ordered one. Not in a hurry and willing to wait, so I used the cheap delivery. I haven't had it for the first 62 years of my life, so I can wait a couple of months.

I bought my first copy one year ago at the regular price of $250. I could not resist to order now a second copy at the $99 sell-off price. Good things do not come often - it is great to have them twice

I'd suppose the Great Atlas is a victim of computerized atlases, but I still like "books." I guess I've gotta wait a couple of months, but looking forward to putting it together and making some acetate FOV circles...

I'm sure after waiting two months for mine, I will have forgotten about it and it will come as a complete surprise one day. I love surprises!

Seven days of waiting for me. Not stressed yet ... though this thread is in my favorites, and I check back if anyone adds a new post.

Where do you live? It said two months to USA. Though I'm not aware of any service that takes that long.
Only USA poster to receive it, looks like they paid extra for postage.

I live in Maryland. I didn't pay extra, just the straight $99. I'm not in a hurry to get the Atlas, but I do want to get it within a "reasonable" amount of time.
I bought a used eyepiece from someone in Poland earlier this year and it took over a month to arrive. It was detained in NYC Customs for about two weeks. I bought an eyepiece from Belarus about the same time and it only took a week to reach me. Last month I ordered an XO 5 from APM in Germany and it arrived within a week.

I didn't get tracking info after I placed my order, and don't even know how it's being shipped. Two to four weeks does seem reasonable enough, especially if it gets held up in customs...

I'm presently in the country of Wales, in the United Kingdom. Delivery time by regular mail estimated at two weeks according to the website. I have a feeling there may be a customs issue, where value added tax (VAT) may be lumped on to the purchase price; here in the UK its twenty percent (20%).

I paid for mine on the 14th of November, 2010, and it arrived at my house here in New Zealand on the 11th of February, 2011. No doubt the xmas mail rush added to that delivery time.

Not yet but without extra paying, it will take three month to receive it in North America. Fortunately I have my own copy.

Why do deliveries from Poland to the US take so long? From Germany: a little less than a week. From Belarus: about a week. From China (PRC): two weeks. From Poland: three months? I ordered a used eyepiece from Poland and it took over a month. Don't the US Customs trust Poland?

Ordered mine at the end of July and am still waiting. I'm guessing that the "economy shipping" means it's coming over on a boat. Still, that's only a 2 week or less trip. I don't know why it should take 2 months.

The GAS has 70,000 deep-sky objects. Are any of them dark nebulae? How many DN are on the charts? If DN are included, how are they depicted?
I have SkySafariPro on my tablet. One thing I don't like about SSP, is that it shows DN as squares of various sizes. Not very helpful at the telescope. I'd rather see the dark nebulae depicted as objects with discrete borders.
