Here is another Bushnell product: 8x30 Broadfield monocular. Bushnell also sold a line of "Broadfield" with a wide fov. This is a mirrored small case epsilon (Greek) lookalike in an oval.

Happy New year, everyone.
I have a super nice .965 zoom eyepiece 8-22mm that came with a "Scope" brand circle T 60mm/700mm
At first I thought the mark on the eyepiece was a circle K, but on closer examination, it's a thin circle CK or KC
here's a drawing of it:
Any ideas?

Blake,
I have the same sticker in the same location on my Celestron/Vixen Firstscope 80mm. The bottom of mine says MORIYA, I'm pretty sure.

I don't know if this might help tie the cursive and block version of HOC but some of the Mayflower scopes of same vintage have either one. Mine has cursive. Any identical labels with the block? I have no paperwork or other dating for mine except visual comparison. I have the whole scope, mount, tripod.

Last week in an antique mall, I saw an E. Vion, Paris 3 draw hand held telescope in nice condition. Is anyone interested in this? It was for sale at $95. Complete inscription on the drawtube is E. Vion, Paris - - Power 40 times - - Double Achromatic - - Made in France. 4 lines of text. Looked like 35mm or 40mm objective. If you're interested I'll buy it and mail it to you. Let me know by PM.

Hey Clint,
With a little know from the inside, that was a bit of an 'ouch' about Jon.
Onward to something productive I hope. Do you still have a Mayflower with the block letter version of HOC? Or do you know where a picture is of the label. Please correct me but I thought you posted suck a picture and I'm all thumbs when it comes to getting a search working here. It would be nice to pan between the pictures while the interim post are thin.

Hmmm, my Mayflower sure does look similar. I'll have to sepperate a string for Mayflower close ups. Mine is all smooth black finish but looks the same as clints. Slightly different clamp top for the OTA. Mine does have the tear drop finder stalk on the OTA. I'll have to check for writing under it.
Thanks for the link greju.

I have only kept a few of the 80mm scopes that are in mint condition the rest I gave to the kids at school, Or sold for $50 to new comers that really wanted a project scope.
I have kept the 1961 HOC Mayflower as it is like a time machine in more ways than one.It is Brand spankin new, has a nice image with a tough mount. 61 was a good year.. (aveman

If you look in the box you will note the paper wrapping is still on the solar plate and silicone bags floating around in the box. When you open the box, you kind of roll back on you heals for a second. The 1961 receipt and badly translated owners manual sealed the deal. Its a keeper...
Almost forgot the grease pencil signature, "One With Tears" under the finder and on the finder bracket. A Japanese friend came over and said 90% sure that it was a nick name like (aveman but more like cry baby.....

Oh my, I had writing under the finder stalk, in red! Just numbers in this case, but matching on the tube and on the base of the stalk. Pictures to follow, I have an *BLEEP*-umption about the writings.
Clint, I want to open another thread on these Mayflowers. I'd like to get specific inputs on dating mine and try to swing some consecutive post pictures for the group. I'll be doing some copy and paste onto my comp. They are very similar and my poor brain doesn't do well taking a photo image across the room to look at something else and compare. I think yours and mine are same era with close enough similarities to consider a tie between the two HOC symbols. Yours is BLOCK HOC and mine is the pretty one.
