Vixen Fluorite 102 refractor
Check out the pics!
or not
This is quite the pig in a poke as the seller doesn't sound too familiar with a telescope
But who could pass up that pink 50mm Refractor shown below the Vixen Ad??????

I believe this one is designed to best observe ground feeding bird species. Or cardinals. Or cardinals while ground feeding. I'm confused... I've emailed the seller for clarification http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/for/3351184260.html

Hey Mike,
According to my research you have cardinals in your neck of the woods (I'm jealous, as i had to travel to Tucson before I ever even saw one) you SHOULD get this scope... with some monetary compensation from the seller of course!

Hey Keith you are so right on. We have cardinal's around here. In the mornings you hear "chip" "chip" "chip" quite often. We have them making nests in our small cedar trees too. Mike

Had one of those when I was a young teen, it's a 50mm Japanese-made Sears zoom spotting scope, although it's sitting in the mount backwards. I have some fond memories of using it while living in a mountain valley, but not so much when trying to use it for night sky views. Almost bought one last year for nostalgic sake, but was nixed by the wife (no room/don't need it).

Cast iron mount with hand made wood tripod? Really??? It's only a Towa mount off of a 4-1/2" reflector. Even with the OTA probably $200 tops at best. Mike

Why is it that people selling astro equipment cannot focus a camera?

Get your Tasco steampunk industrial lamp right here:
Tasco 11TE-5 telescope lenses wooden tripod steampunk industrial lamp SPC
We sill see a Goto/Nippon Kogaku/Zeiss/Tinsley/Alvan Clarke steampunk lamp at some point. There are probably a few Unitron steampunk lamps out there right now.

I hope it's a RED steampunk lamp for night vision.

Yes, and it also looks like it "needs a new directional locating lens"

here's my favorite. It was actually a "wanted" posted right here on CN Classifieds- Refractors. The one line add stated:
"I'm new to astronomy and am looking for a relatively inexpensive goto telescope in the 4" to 6" range.
Now if you see any of those inexpensive 4 and 6 inch Gotos, let me know too
PS- Yes, he probably meant "go-to" but in the context of this group, I found it rather amusing.
