On the upper end of scopes the rage for the last generation has been stubby tubes (for easy transport) and supposidly lower f-ratios are better than longer scopes for astro-photography, that produce smaller magnification (who needs magnification!

Finally got a clear night. In the full moon glow...and a little street light.
My 77mm f=1200 Eikow with ugly aluminum legs, for now.

Your pictures may be too large. I use the Paint program in windows to resize my photographs. They need to be 100kb (or maybe its 200kb now) or less.

Thanks Mark. I call it "Moon Scope" because it always comes out with the moon. Moonless nights are for the 8" dob.
Take care.

Thought I'd revive this old thread. Here's my pieced together early 80's Celstron SP-C8 with recently added SkySensor drive.

and Tasco with the Edmund 8"

Nice observatory Mike! Apart from the occasional rain/hail storm, Brisbane's climate is pretty friendly to al fresco moon gazing. Here is a late afternoon shot of a Unitron 114 waiting for a break in the clouds.
