I vote DC Metro/No. Virginia area. Can only see the very brightest of stars and the planets. Forget about deep sky. That and the high humidity killed my astronomy interest during grad school here (well the lack of time is the #1 culprit).

I got you all beat...
This observatory is located within ten miles of the Manhattan light dome, within one mile of MetLife stadium complex (football, basketball and horse racing), and on the flight path of one of the runways for Newark Airport = planes passing over every ten minutes at approx. 1,000 feet.
This must be the worst location for an observatory in the world.

I guess any complaint I may have would pale in comparison.
I would find my dedication wavering under such circumstances.

As far as cloud cover goes, here are the top 20 cloudiest cities in the US:
http://www.aeb-e-presskit.org/130110cities.html
I live in Portland and can attest to the incessant cloud cover, but we’re ranked only number 5…

Someone explain to me why "The 10 Cloudiest US Cities" is on an Egg website (yep, eggs, the chicken kind). First time I saw it, how is it they got a copy of the study and we didn't?????
Now on Cloudy Nights: Which came first--the chicken or the egg???????

Rochester NY is no better! I blame a newly refigured 16" mirror for the month and a half of cloudyness! I was able to see Jupiter and M42 for a brief few minutes but that has been it!
It can't last forever right? It has to clear up sometime!

Got to be Ohio. We had zero clear nights all this month and February looks to be the same.
