Your image is mirror-reversed, maybe that's why you couldn't identify the field. Nice shot btw! It doesn't appear to have a name. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this and does it have a name. It's at Lat. 46.939, Long. 49.889. NICE! That was actually my first impression. Really clean cut sculptural definition well done. What's testament here to the fact that its a fine image is there are greys not blacks defining a lot of the topography. These greyer high angle lit areas can be really tough - but it works here. I also checked it using the Virtual Lunar Atlas and it was unnamed there. I think it's a very young crater. I was able to see it easily last Full Moon with my 5' as a very prominent bright spot just east of Atlas. I saw this crater in the picture at the opening of this topic and that tipped me off that one of the un-id'd craters in the original photo was Atlas. Thanks!
