No offense, but I'd rather see something other than Celestron's marketing hype on the mount.

Hello, apart from pictures, do you think it was possible to post the PE curve? It would be great to know how well the mount tracks. What are your impressions? How sturdy is it? Pointing precision?

I am thinking about this mount so ANY information is very valuable for me ;-)

Thank you,
Frank

So there's no confusion, I think the mount in the picture above is one of the original CGE Pro prototypes of a few years ago; they never went into production.

It's a nice picture, though. Compelling composition and good use of flash to capture the indoor scene without overpowering the twilight background.

I am certain that Celestron will have one of these at NEAF. THIS TIME, I PROMISE to take pictures!

I did get a few minutes with it at the WSP. The data base was small with only 40K objects and only 200 user defined objects. However, it would still keep someone entertained for a long time. Although we only used it visually it did do a great job of tracking and it was surprisingly quiet. It was less noisy that the CGEM and just a bit louder than my Atlas.

Rest assured, this is a massive mount. It is nothing that I would consider to be portable. It took two people to set it up at the WSP. Your mileage may vary.

Steve

Thank you, Phil. That really is a gorgeous, massive-looking, mount. It would appear from the photo that my thoughts of this being a portable mount was doomed from the beginning. I hope that Celestron has one of these at NEAF where I can actually get a feel for the size. Amazing that a photo never really gives a sense of size/mass. I appreciate you posting the image. I can't help myself, though...I really want one of these!

That's ok the important thing is we got a pic from a CN member. on my monitor the pic is a little dark that's why I had to brighten it a bit. but thanks for the picture. Now all we need is a mini review and maybe a first light pic

As for size the focuser to the left of the picture is a Meade 16" Lightbridge.
