My setup: Soligor SkyView mount (same as Orion Skyview Deluxe) on a dumpy level tripod. The tripod is a MOM (Magyar Optikai Müvek - Hungarian Optical Works), and is very massive.

ngc2289 , dennilfloss, Mike E. thanks

The mount is not yet fixed to the tripod, I just put it on top. My father will make a round platform which fits in the hole of the tripod, and the top side will be the same as the original tripod's.

That counterweight battery pack is an excellent idea. If there was one that was bigger for amp hours it could be really cool! Great idea they had.

Actually Tech2000 has been making these battery weights for years...scroll to bottom of linked page. But you're correct, capacity is limiting factor. -Tim

I wonder how long it may last if to connect to the dew heater. Anyone tried it?

The largest Tech2000 battery-weight is 7AmpHr, so you can calculate how many amps your dew heater and or mount is drawing and do the math. Keep in mind that you can only draw your battery down about 50 percent of it's rated capacity. -Tim
