Hey you figured out the "fish tool". I went through 3 test mounts before I figured out that you use that to fish the cables through the mount

Also, they did not pick up my counter weight shaft when they recalled the LX800. It has a much better end cap, so, I put that on the LX850 counter weight shaft.

I am thinking about changing my signature to include the stainless steel shaft cap as a separate piece of gear, it is awesome, and, provides additional weight. Feels like about 5#s:

Also, did you notice the 2 lock nuts on the shaft, they were not part of the LX800. I like them. You can lock the counter weights in one place. Not that I think they would have moved, nice touch. I think they are a very dense nylon. But, much harder than I have ever seen. Maybe some other material.

Yep, they keep the weights from shifting/rattling.
As to the stainless end cap:
When I had the lx800 I ended up putting one of those stick on pads, the kind that you put on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from scratching hardwood floors, down into the hole so that the cap would not tighten up so much as to get stuck. I've had it stuck on there a few times before I did that. Just a pro-tip for you.

That's the same CW shaft cap they use on the max mount. Just tried out, yep, it fits.

it's true what they say!
the position of the RA and DEC motors, the position of the cables on the RA and DEC motors, and the logo on top of the RA motor....
all remind me of one particular mount.
