Many congratulations,

Best regards,

nice planet shots! Smitty do you have a site/blog where you have all of your shots? have you tried M42?

I haven't quite gotten in to DSO imaging yet. I thought about trying out my t3i to see if I can get a Glob with the Alt-az mount.
Of course DSO imaging will be a whole nother process to learn.

And my only "blog" with the pics is facebook. Lol

Not really late Tel, that Saturn was from last year and I am fairly certain you commented on it then.

Regardless, thank you and Peter very much.

Stunning planetary images. My first thought was: "nice C14 image of Mars"

Oh how I wish I had a C14. A man can dream though, a man can dream.

Hey Matt - I have been trying to get some DSO imaging but seem to be failing. My unmodded T2i just isn't cutting it.. I wanted to go out last night but I ended up falling a sleep.. Been a very busy week for me. But since I got a ton of sleep last night, I am ready for tonight.. I am going to try my hand with Mars and Saturn.

Great pics! I noticed you are using an 8SE on a CPC mount with Rons rails. Where did you find a CPC Mount? I have googled it and can't find them for sale

Just the tripod. The SE mount drop fits into the same 3 bolt holes as the CPC mount. I got mine from Adorama. Just google CPC tripod and click on Shopping in the results.

A great image, no question!

For comparison could you post one or two good unprocessed single frames. I don't normally capture and post process so I can't easily compare your (excellent) image with real time video or my MK1 eyeball impressions.

A stacked, unprocessed image? Or a raw single frame? I'd be happy to, just let me know which one.

Smitty,

Stellar pics. I am not kidding. That is really remarkable. You need to start selling them. World class stuff, no joke.

It took some digging David, but I found the Saturn vid from last year. Here is a random screen grab of a single image.

Thank you.

The processed images we often see here depend to a great extent upon the art of the imager. Frame grabs give us a baseline for comparison and a useful approximation of what might be seen in the EP on on the video display.

Once again you did a great job.
