Hey thanks Rook, as an RASC member I attend the odd observing night but never an actual star party. I have a place down in the southwest part of the province near here;

Pisony Ranch Alberta (which is actually in a grey LP area)

. . . so I tend to get away by myself. That way I get far more eyepiece time and I don't have to camp! True, there is something to be said for having your peers around for support, but I'm just as happy being alone and not having to 'entertain'.

Haven't posted a 'setup' picture in a while so here's the latest from Mount Jennings Observatory.

Here's another angle showing my MallinCam VSS+ on the scope.

Very nicely done Zippeee. I like your setup (the room and the scope!)

I couldn't help but notice the eyepiece case on the floor. I have the powermate, a panoptic and a couple of ethos, and am looking for a good case to put the collection in. Can I ask what kind of case, and where did you get it?
I'm in Calgary, so wonder if you sourced it locally?

And I am also going to look up Pisony Ranch? Haven't heard of it till now, and have no idea where it is!

Also - I'm off to the Alberta Star Party this weekend - my first one!

Thanks, Bill

Thanks Bill, the case is an old el cheapo grey thing that has since been replaced with a Pelican 1600 and 1520. There's a place called Optimal on Blackburn Road that I've gotten replacement pick 'n pluck inserts from before. They'll probably have whatever you need.

As for this weekend, should warm and clear. I wish I could be there. Let's just hope the wind stays in check.

I have assembled this over the past two years.

Here is a picture of my Nexstar 11 GPS on a modified wedge. The instrument was cannabalized when the OTA was deforked to be mounted on a CGEM DX. Loved the Nexstar GPS mount enough that I haven't sold it yet.

Never know a new OTA might come my way some day and I'll want to restore the CF 11" OTA back to its rightful ride.

Great looking scope Zippeee, the Tardis is a great touch. The display case looks good as well.

I can't even begin to tell you how great it is to see everyone's rigs on here. I am about to purchase a CPC 800 and am learning so much just from seeing and reading these posts.

Love Zippee's TARDIS stickers, Anne in the UK's incredible series of equipment and wires (pretty sure there's a scope under all of that) and the cart/wheels attached under gapalp's tripod. Once I get my stuff and put it all together, I'll post one here as well.

Alas, its off the cart and in a POD observatory now. But it made for a great pic! I still have the cart, not sure what to do with it. I think Anna's is on a cart now too.

A fairly standard set-up, I added the Starlight Microfocuser in the last few weeks.

As you can see I like the Ultima LX, I've an 8mm, 13mm, 17mm, 22mm & 32mm I added the 2" diagonal when I bought the 32mm back in March. I have the scope over a year and all I need now are clear skies over Dublin .
