I've always had an interest in the TMB 130ss refractor and when one came up on the S&S Telescopes forum I couldn't resist.
Be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Vixen Petzval....

Congrats! I was a little skeptical of apos when I finally bought my first several years ago. Since then, I've had no regrets and keep adding to my apo ranks.
Be sure to let us know how it performs in comparison with the Vixen!

You'll like wide (and flat, lesser field curvature, probably not as flat as NA140) view as well as color free high magnification view. I am going back to big binoculars from APO

No reason to "go back"....I plan on side by side; let's see, 21mm Ethos in TMB = 43x, 3mm exit pupil, 2.3 degree fov. Seems like a great pairing to my BT100s with 24 Pan eps for Milky Way sweeping.

Congratulations, and welcome to the ranks of Weenieville Mr. Bill. I was amazed at the difference in the visual image between my achromats and my first apo, an FLT132- so much so that I ended up getting 2 more smaller appos. So much for the upgrade bullet I thought I would dodge by going for the bigger apo first. Good luck with the new scope.

APO weenies
Please explain this quote...
"Among hackers, when used with a qualifier (for example, as in Unix weenie, VMS weenie, IBM weenie) this can be either an insult or a term of praise, depending on context, tone of voice, and whether or not it is applied by a person who considers him or herself to be the same sort of weenie. It implies that the weenie has put a major investment of time, effort and concentration into the area indicated; whether this is good or bad depends on the hearer's judgment of how the speaker feels about that area."
Actually, an attempt at humorous ironical self deprecation...

That, sir, is a nice telescope! But come on...APO weenies? I have your scope's baby brother sitting on my C14, but a weenie? I think I've been insulted!
