Without a doubt the most beautiful scope so far. Took this picture just after completion. The lenses are from an Orion GoScope. Focuser is a GSO 2FOCR. OTA is from a new scope maker named "Lowe's".

That is really cool, I envy your creativity.

Very nice, Mike. Though the largest OTA we have is about 25 pounds, the tips on mounting/demounting your scopes apply equally to smaller instruments as well. Your approach obviously has safety in mind. Thanks for posting.

Since I've never seen anyone unmount such a large refractor this was quite interesting.

thanks for sharing.

Steve,

Losmandy made the G-9 for several years, it was designed for the Celestron 9-1/4" SCT. Today, Losmandy no longer makes them, just the G-11 and GM-8, though they still have parts and accessories for them. If you look on Losmandy's site under replacement parts, you'll see the G-9 is referenced several times.

Interesting.
Is it bigger than a G8?

Steve

I just purchased a WO/TMB ZS110 APO Triplet 3 weeks ago and then I was informed that a scope I had my eye on came in.

A WO FLT 132 APO Triplet...

No, it's a G8 branded for Celestron.

Here is my first and only refractor so far.
It is a Vixen ED80S, f9, nice clean and crisp views.
Bought it second hand last month, after a good trial run.

Cheers
Bernardo
