What an intriguing rig Ed! How does it work? Is it a simple folding refractor or is it something more akin to one of your "chief" reflectors?

Could you post a pic of the objective?

No not a folded refractor or Chief it's more akin to Schupmann refractors except it performs better.

What is the focal length? It looks like you have both a lens and a curved mirror.

Focal length is about 66 inches. It has a positive front lens, a meniscus lens silvered on the back, a weak secondary mirror and a plano convex field lens. All lenses are inexpensive crown glass. It is diffraction limited over a 1 degree field from 400 to 750 nm. There's more pictures on the spiderless group and a thread in ATM, Optics forum.

Neil,
OK ... I'm sailing down the Rhine in my mind now(Last one in the lab here on Friday afternoon) ... what is it? looks like the focuser is one that Dan Crawford makes here on this side of the Atlantic(Similar to the one on the Carton 100mm build that I have).

Looks like you have the northern hemisphere model since the lettering on your dew shield is upside-down. Of course, you could simply grab it and rotate it 180° so it would be right-side up and legible from both sides down there in Australia where you reside.

They do seem to rotate fine without bothering anything. I had a case made for my 160 so it was nice to rotate the dewshield by 90 to get it where the letters didn't slide against foam going into the case.
