I'd like to add my site:
http://www.seemysunspot.com It's a daily record of solar activity using images and sketches from observers all over the world...I have over 16mths there now with very few missing days...If people want to see the activity on any particular day, I probably have one or more images/sketches for them check out along the the day before and after for those doing any research...Just a thought!

Sunspotter 2.5. A tool for grabbing the latest white-light image of the Sun and more, taken from the SOHO web site. The image corresponds to the sort of view you would see using a telescope equipped with a standard solar filter. Some brief notes are included to explain what it is you're looking at. Intended for amateur astronomers and teachers/students interested in the Sun. Free. For both mac and windows.

Solar images comparing white light and ha viewing. What your missing if only viewing in white light! and a simple solar phenomena glossary all on one screen. All very straightforward and a quick way into solar viewing. John

Munsell Eye Test. I thought this would be useful to gauge eye acuity in particular to "the dark adapted eye". Take a bit of time to do it. I did mine in daylight but I suspect a better result would come from doing the test in a darkened room.

Fun for all the family. Oh my test result is as shown. John

Don't think I saw this cool free program listed her, so here's my contribution:
http://jhelioviewer.org/
"What is JHelioviewer? JHelioviewer is visualization software for solar image data based on the JPEG 2000 compression standard. JPEG 2000 offers many useful new features and has the potential to revolutionize the way high-resolution image data are disseminated and analyzed. The JPEG 2000 Interactive Protocol (JPIP) enables serving data in a highly compressed, quality-progressive, region-of-interest-based stream. These features minimize the data volume transmitted while maximizing its usability. This is especially relevant for solar physics since NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory has started providing more than a terabyte of image data per day. "
