Theres gotta be a thread already done on this but I dug 10-15 pages back in a few different sections and couldnt find any with alot of photos. Im at the point with a few EPs and Powermates that I need to come up with something soon so Id like to see what you all carry your EPs in. I know Astrobabys project which was amazing but I certainly dont have the patience for that lol. If I overlooked a photo thread for EP cases please advise

Here's mine. This is a cheap Harbor Freight case. I bought solid foam (not the pick & pluck) so I could custom cut it and get a higher packing density:

Want something inexpensive? How about a double pistol case which comes full of pull your own foam, is about 16" long and 6" deep and costs less than $15 dollars. It serves well as an eyepiece case or an accessary case. Personally, I own and use about 10 of them and am about ready to buy a few more.

Music Equipment case with cubed pluck foam with replacement blocks available. I used this option once after a reconfiguration, however when I got the deal of a lifetime on my current Eyepiece set I decided not to reinvent the wheel and used the white foam that the eyepieces came in. This meant I could keep the plucked foam I already had and then thanks to a member here got the idea to 'dress' it with some black baize.

Here's my custom Wood Wonders case:
I've rearranged it a bit since these were taken. I keep several more 1.25" eyepieces in the upper right drawer. With this setup I have the 31mm Nagler in the middle the 21mm Ethos in the back. They're surrounded by the other Ethos and Naglers.
Eyepieces sit flat on the wood so I don't use the bottom caps. I simply grab the one I want to use and put the top cap on top of another eyepiece.

Looking good guys, geesh. Keith, do you secure the TV foam or is it secured by the pluck foam? I may have to use that for my TV pieces. Those of you who stand up your 2" EPS....any issues with that? That may also be the way to go as far as saving space hmmm.....so many ways to go

LOL - if I had known what a monster it was going to be I doubt I would have bothered myself As I said in my thread when you have built one it makes the Wood Wonders one look kind of inexpensive by comparison.
A bargain in fact. No idea how he does it at that price.

My case is the one that came with my Orion 120mm EON. I am storing the scope and guide scope together in a different case as they would not fit the original together.
Here are the EP's.

Thanks Danzup77 All the EP cases are really nice here so far. Lots of the Televue green...and green backs for them! Some of these cases have over $5k in them. WOW.

This is my eyepiece case used in the observatory. The eyepieces are in the top left drawer. A bit over the top, but it sure has been handy for the last 15 years.

This one is used for traveling to star parties. It's just a simple plywood box, but it has room for nearly everything. I have no patience for taking off eyepiece caps every time you change eyepieces, so none are used. The eyepieces stay quite clean. When the lid is lifted up dim red LEDs light up the interior.

I use the same case as a couple of the guys above except I don't use the foam. For me the foam takes up too much room and I want too much stuff in my case. I just keep the eyepieces in their original boxes with all the packing and have had no problems. I got this one from Home Depot for $20.00:

The TV foam is held by the pluck foam. ie, taking out 1 less column of cubes than the width of the TV foam insert so the cube foam is under compression. The TV foam isn't going anywhere because of the baize. I'd say the case could go nearly vertical before the case would let go of the eyepieces. ( Must test that out on a bed actually. One or two EP's at a time though, I don't want them hitting each other if they do fall out )
TBH though, this will just be my transport and storage case. I'll be making this multifunction thing which will be a powertank/stepstool/observing-chair/outreach-stool with handrail which will have a heated EP box mounted to it. Have to get the idea out of my head and down on paper soon and start acquiring the parts I'll need.

Here is my Pelican 1700 cass with wheels on one end and handle on the other end along with a handle on top. I can either cary the case or drag it along behind me. I like all my eyepieces handy as I never know what I want to use and my viewing choices change according to conditions.
I still have some room for the Delos eyepieces and that should finish off my collection, Right? Ok if not I can replace the foam and change to an upright position for a lot of the eyepieces.
