PM sent to Rob, I will let you know what I find out. Rob's wife works at the Navy Commissary in Bremerton and I have not seen her in a while so I assumed he moved.

There is someplace that the fog isn't?

I have not seen sky... even during the day!

I've been trying to call my friend in Winthrop for quite some time. Got one call back that I missed ... Now I guess I got to drive over and beat on the door and see whats up, this weekend. It's supposed to be pretty good but cold this weekend so I'm going to try to get some imaging in as well!

I'm hoping that I can keep my eyes open long enough to do a marathon drive thursday night from Greenbank on Whidbey Island, to Smokey Point(then load my gear) and drive to my friends place in Winthrop.

I may drive home tomorrow night, get my stuff, drive back to Oak Harbor, then leave from Greenbank on Thursday and drive straight through to Winthrop after work... (I think I like that plan best)

You are a man of dedication, Robert!

The fog managed to burn off today in Marysville.
Its been a week and a half of constant fog/overcast.
To celebrate I decided to snap some shots of the sunspot groups in white light.

So I'm thinkin. The moon doesn't come up on Friday until about 11:30 PM. The next moon rise is at 12:20 am on Sunday. And the next at 1:22 am Monday. Since the sun sets about 6pm, that gives us about 4 hours of dark on Friday night, 5 on Sat and 6 on Sunday night. More than we were getting in June. Anybody up for a trip to G-Dale? I could work a half day on Friday and get down there late Friday for some Bino action. Set up the scope for Saturday and leave Sunday, unless anybody wanted to call in sick on Monday and stay another night. I would help with the honey bucket if anybody else wanted to go. Or there's always Rainier or the Snow Park at Cle Elum...

Tempting, but not in the cards for me either. It's frustrating that the clear skies are not more than 5 miles from my abode. Also with the fog it would be very dark. But it is up in the wild hills. Most animals are ok there but the human type are kind of scary for me to be out there alone. Anyone want to brave it? I really wish there was a private place to go up there.

I did see a little sun yesterday and even a tiny bit today.

Brad

Or Hurricane Ridge.

I retrieved Minnow from G/dale for the winter last weekend, so I don't think I'll go that far, Stacy. All should feel welcome to go there without me.

Brad, you're echoing what I was musing to myself: If a guy can get above the fog it oughta be **really** dark. (That's double double-asterisk dark.) I think an evening excursion around your area would be doable, and considerably less driving & more sleep than if I went to Hurricane (which I was considering). I have something going on Friday evening but I'd do it on Sat.

Ok looks like a "go" for me as well. I am looking at a Friday 6pm or so arrival and departing on Sunday.

Anybody else?

I can go anywhere in the area. Of course a shorter drive would be better. I just need a place to pitch my tent. What is the place near Olympia? My friend Ram was looking for good eastern horizon to image ISON.

I might do Rattlesnake Lake Sunday night.
