From the showroom area, looking towards the first newly opened window in the front of the building. Michael’s office and the conference area will have 3’ pony walls, then glass walls to the ceiling so the light from the windows can flood the showroom. The offices on either side will have clear glass transoms across their widths so the light from their windows can do the same.

Looking towards my office, with the elevator shaft in the forground. Since I do the product images for the website, my office will have solid walls, with transoms at one end, so that the light table and lights set up for product photography don’t shine out into the showroom area and keep the employees awake.

Great view of the Sooner Theatre! And if you look to the right instead of the left, there's McNellie's, so you are well-situated in the coolest block in Norman. And Tom can walk to city hall from his office!

It's great that you and your family chose to be a key part of the renovation of downtown Norman. This area is chock full of fascinating history, beautiful architecture, and that still-feels-like-a-small-town charm that makes Norman such a wonderful place to live.

Now if it only had the dark skies of New Mexico!

The red building in the center of the image is McNellie’s Pub that Mish mentioned above. It’s one of many restaurants and liquid refreshment oases within a few blocks: Bison Wiches Bar and Grill, Benvenuti’s Ristorante, Blu Fine Wine and Food, Coach Brewhouse, Diner (featured on the Food Channel TV show “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives”), Forward Foods, Full Moon Sushi, The Garage, Ole Town Gyros & Kabob, and many, many more. If we suddenly come all over peckish at work, we can pop out for a quick nosh and be back in just a few minutes.

All four windows opened in front of the building. New brick work, metal frames, and glass to follow.

We’re opening up the old bricked-up windows in the side of the building, as well as those in the front.

Do I win a free trip to the Grand Opening for spotting the Monty Python reference (Cheese Shop sketch) a couple of posts back? That is a competition, right?

Loving what you are doing to the place; history preserved is so important.

Why all these questions? Is this some sort of Spanish Inquisition?

Go ahead, do your worst. Poke me with the soft cushions and make me stay in the Comfy Chair until lunch time, with only a cup of coffee at eleven. I can take it!

That is soooo wonderful that you are opening the windows back up. I hate to see old buildings with their windows bricked up. The efficient use of natural light was so important to the design of these structures. That alone should help you with a grant application. Congratulations on the new building!

The conveyor belt I wanted to ride up and down on my breaks. Best to say bye-bye to it now, since it won’t be around too much longer.

Elevator shaft going up from the first floor. The new wood we are using is not as warped as it looks. Just an artifact of the camera lens.

Elevator shaft coming up to the second floor. Should be complete in a day or so, then time to install the elevator.

Side of the elevator shaft. The stairs will start lower right and wrap around the elevator shaft going up from right to left.
