This is great news and I hope it continues in production.

Mine was a great "little" scope, visually and photographically. I only let it go because I felt somewhat gulity keeping it for visual observing while all the imagers were begging for it.

Thanks,

Ron

Can folks who have this scope chime in on how it performs visually? I am looking for an outreach scope in the 6 inch range to ride on my Nexstar 6/8 mount and was considering the C6, but the AT 6RC would be somewhat less, if it performs decently with an eyepiece.

Mine worked okay visually. The super large CO knocked down the contrast, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The scope cooled down quicker and the external focuser worked very well. I also don't remember seeing any excessive FC or coma.

Cheers,

Ron

Caught up with the rest of the lemmings I purchased it at $299. Then of course the rings and used it visually for a while. It gave a nice view. It worked well with an Orion Video Cam. Then sold it to a guy who wanted it for AP. Like all AT equipment it was a really good value for the money. Glad to see that it will be available again.

I have used mine (bought used) for visual and also AP and as far my opinion it works ok for visual, and down right great for Ap work. Visual it does lack du to contrast but when doing star parties most people dont know the difference, untill they look at same object thru larger SCT.

Lenses are in process at the moment. A very small batch should be ready in the next 4-6 weeks.

Hi Mike, is this post in reference to my question about the AT130 or the AT6RC?

If its the AT130, would an order placed in May have a good chance of being on that short list to get one?

The price was higher then anticipated so the price actually will increase 7/1/2012 to $499, but we will honor all units sold before that date.

We're waiting on a shipment of the 1" and 2" extension rings that are now being included with the 6RC. As soon as they arrive we will start shipping.
