Hello all,

I wanted to introduce myself as the new owner of Lumicon International, LLC manufacturer of filters and accessories. My wife had been the controller for Lumicon for several years and when the economy took a downturn along with the tsunami in Japan, it created a big downturn for Lumicon's business. We saw this as an opportunity to take Lumicon to a new level so we decided to purchase the company and focus on its core products once again. We have retained some of the key people in the company to work with us. We have just completed production on a run of UHC's, OIII's and Deep Sky filters. While we are still short on many products listed on the website, the 3 mentioned here are now ready for shipping.

I know many people have experienced long delays in some recent shipments but with new ownership and guidance, we are returning Lumicon back it's position as a top supplier of filters.

That's awesome news Marc. I own quite a few Lumicon filters and will probably be purchasing more now. Very high quality items.

I have always recommended Lumicon. I hope you can turn the company around. What if any changes do you plan for your deep sky filters, i.e. will you keep the current models? Any ball park estimates on how long it will take you to get orders out in a reasonable amount of time?

Thank you for all the words of encouragement.

GeneT: We will continue to make available the deep sky filters with the same manufacturing process and specs as is the same for any filters that will be available in the future. This is what Lumicon was built on and what I plan on carrying on. We are currently finishing production on Deep Sky's, OIII's and UHC's and they will be ready to ship tomorrow. If you or anyone has any specific stock inquiries, you can reach me at info@lumicon.com and I will provide whatever answers I can.

Thats such great news. Everytime a Lumicon OIII or UHC goes up for sale it sold almost instantly. This is perfect.

I expect both of these to be available by Friday this week. Machining is complete and they are being anodized currently.

There is no change to the manufacturing, process or specs. They are the exact same filters as under the previous ownership.

Great news, I wish you guys nothing but the best and much success. It would have been a bummer if a name like Lumicon would have been a casualty of the times. I own a few Lumicon filters and the laser pointer holder, all are superb products.

I have every 2" Lumicon filter, including colors, except the 2" variable polarizer filter!

I've been holding off getting a few filters, hoping that Lumicon would bounce back (and being very happy with the Lumicon filters I already have).

I had to cancel an order several months ago because of the uncertainty of when stock would be coming in and now I can go ahead and re-order.

I hope you will keep the mechanical stuff available too. I have several items and I've always liked your products. Do you sell the nice brass thumbscrews for the eyepiece holder on the easy guider separately? I could use a couple. GW
