Total weight 2,400 lbs about

the lead time for mechanics is very short, maybe 2,3 month only , but the optics need 18 to 24 month , melting, polishing, coating, assembling etc....

WOW! And I thought I only wanted a 150mm bino. Any chance they'll sell tickets to look through this 12" bino (since that is more likely than me ever winning a lottery ticket).

Would you please check that those tiny bolts holding the pier to the floor are screwed in tight? It makes me nervous just looking at it.

Really excellent, I like to see such wondrous instruments being made, exciting and inspiring! I've often daydreamed of what I would have custom made when...er... if I win the Lotto

This fires up my imagination even more. Definitely need the observing throne integral and incorporated into the instrument, as Mike alluded to above with his diagram / simulation. Just get in, buckle up, grab the wheel and "drive off" to your destination target. Ideally 100% mechanical without any electricity, just driven by gears and wheels turned by the "driver".

I see you are good only with adapters and lasers, but not with bolt technic, hahaha, even if there would be no bolts at all, you could not drop it down and the scope movement would not drop it, everything is perfect balanced in center of the mass !!!

Beautiful beyond words! But the curves on those lenses must be very steep and the glass rather thick; how will cool down be handled?

Markus what is the cost of the binos and mount seperately (or estimate % breakdown)? Just wondering if binos or mount is more expensive when you get to that size.

Once APM has made a one-off, they often show it up for sale, even if it is already in the hands of the customer, to show what they can do and what the estimated price will be.

the one shown here with pictures is sold, yes, but we can do it again if you place a new order.

As additional info to the questions of the refractor forum:
this binocular is build to be used in 3 ways
a, as shown, as binocular telescopes with Binoptic/Germany made bino asembly with high reflection mirror and easy collimation build in. The usefull power is the same as for a single standart 12" Apo

b, the bino assembly can be taken off, extensions to be screwed on, then 2 side by side 12" apos remain and can be used by 2 people at the same time

c, one or both tubes can be taken ouf of the rotating ring and mounted onto a standart germany equatorial mount for single telescope use

so all flexibility excist
