The old page put together to list the websites of Cloudy Nights members was...ummm...not being kept up, so a new one has been started. I included the sites that were on the old list for current members, including changes and additions from the old thread. The new list can be found here:
Cloudy Nights - Member Websites
If you would like to have your non-commercial astronomy-related website added, please send me a PM with the URL and name of your site, or post it in this thread, and I will add it to the member website.
Enjoy!

Steph -
Maybe cross-post this in the OTO or Beginner's Forum to get some more exposure. Out of 7000+ members, there is likely to be several dozen more websites not currently on the list. Nice job on updating/upgrading the list though! I like the new look. BTW, I checked out your site. Nice work and I was drooling over your growing collection of refractors. As a gag, maybe get some material from Walmart and craft a little KILT to put around the OTA of the Yard Cannon before Scott reclaims it!
Ok, this is rambling off topic now...

Mike, thanks for your comments also. I'm working on the best way to publicize this a bit better, to not only get more sites added but also let folks know about some of the great resources already included on the listing. And I like the kilt idea for the Yard Cannon...

Dennis, Jim, Peter, Rony, Paul -- got you all added along with several from PMs received. Thanks everyone!
Dennis, you asked about club websites. We want to keep this list just for CN member websites, there are plenty of other sites that list clubs and other ways to find those (including some pinned links down in our very own Astro Outreach, Clubs and Star Parties forum to ways to search for clubs in a member's area). And hey, your clock is working...not that it's anything to write home about right now.

Many years back, I used to run a "links portal" website. I can attest to the amount of work it takes to police the list and weed out 404's (not founds) and changed URLs. So, let's not make Steph work herself to death keeping this list up to date. I pledge on the behalf of my fellow webmasters to inform Steph via this thread or PM if/when my website URL or status should change. If we all remember to keep the list current, then it will be useful and fun for others to browse.

Hi,
My site address has changed. It is now http://panthercreekastro.mysite.com Unforunately this site has banner ads and pop-ups so I may be changing hosts again once I decide on another or I may leave it here if I decide it is worth paying for the space to eliminate the ads.

Phil and MikeL (and everyone else), the CN member website list is only for members' personal astro websites, and not for astro clubs. If we included those, the list would quickly become unmanageable. And there are several other resources to find astro clubs (check down in the Astro Outreach, etc. forum, for instance, if you're actively looking for one!). We want this to be a spot where CN members can find other interesting member astro websites.
And I'm behind on updates to a couple of other sites posted, like MikeG and John, and I'll try to get those done this weekend. Sorry about that!

I changed it as my old host were hosting a little more than just websites and kept denying that they were infected by anything...
I did make a seperate post a week or two ago, but I've had PM's about people going onto the old site and getting virii. I have now also changed it in my profile.

Steph,
Please add the Frugal Astronomer website to the member website list.
This site is for amateur astronomers on a limited budget, which is probably most of us. It is a single source for locating low-cost, high-quality gear. Nothing is for sale. Most resources are free, ad supported or low-cost, high quality alternatives to commercial products. Gear includes atlases, maps, charts, ephemerides, almanacs, books, software, online resources, newsletters, mail groups and podcasts.
The URL is http://mysite.verizon.net/frugalastronomer/index.html
Thank you,
Michael Wright

Hi!
I'm new at cloudy nights, and I'd be glad if you could include my site: www.astronomie-hohewand.at. This site contains observings with a 8" f/6 Sky-Watcher Dobsonian in the Austrian Alps and some interesting facts about Dobson-Tuning.
Thank You!

I've been working on my web pages for the last week or so. I've been using the Coffee Cup editor and it is reasonably painless.
See the link in my signature.

Please note, we don't add astronomy groups to the CN members website, it's only for individual sites.
