Beginning Imaging:

microbes:

Sagittarius Region of the Milky Way.

Shot on film with a Yashica FX/2 mounted on an EQ2 at f/1.9 thru a 50mm lens on Fuji Superia Xtra 800.
20 second exposure, processing limited to cropping and darking the shot.

RGB image of Jupiter taken on May 27th from Bangkok, Thailand

Technical details:
self-made telescope Newton diameter 275 mm (~11") F/4.9, Giacometti optics
Mount: Gemini G41 field with FS2 GTO
Powermate 5X, equivalent focal lengh 9400 mm
set of RGB filters True Tech
Lumenera LU075M, 12 bit monochrome CCD camera
3 x 30 sec film at 20 fps captured by Streampix and processed by Iris and Photoshop

Seeing was great that night, with no wind and good transparency

Subject: M20 (Trifid Nebula) and M8 (Lagoon Nebula).
Camera: Canon 350D (unmodified) prime focus.
Exposure: 7 x 4 Mins, ISO 800, Noise Reduction On.
Scope: Orion 80mm ED with crosshairs piggyback on Meade SN-8.
Mount: Meade LXD-75 (with SN-8) Manually Guided.
Location: Canberra 24Jun06 1300 hrs UTC.
Processing: Manual align in MaxDSLR, processed in ImageReady.
