Howdy all;
I posted this here for two reasons. Beginners often have smaller telescopes and are looking for something that "looks neat" in them also, there are some star patterns in the list that are famous and you will hear us old timers talk about, such as the Summer Triangle.
So, there are over 80 asterisms (star groupings) in the list and some are in the southern sky and never rise for us northerners. It includes a small documentation file.
Go the Saguaro Astronomy Club web site: www.saguaroastro.org
The link there will get you to the downloads page and then scan down to the "Asterisms" link that will get you a zip file that includes the information. As I have been doing recently, the data is in three formats. One is an Excel spreadsheet, second is a simple text file with a vertical "fence" marking the columns and the third is a comma delimited file that can be imported into a wide variety of programs.
I printed out a few of these objects for the last weekend and had several folks looking through my 4" at the "Little Queen" in Draco and the "Swoosh" in Aquila and Scutum.
Lots of fun; Steve Coe

Thanks Steve. That one is going in the keepers folder.
The first thing that jumped out and hit me in the eye when I opened the XL file, was the "Saxophone". I never even knew there was such a thing in the sky... and me a saxophone player.

Folks;
I am very happy that you are pleased with what I have done so far and there are more coming. As soon as I made this release, people started sending me more asterisms. They're everywhere;-)
Enjoy; Steve Coe
