Been debating whether to put this here or in the DSLR forum...
I'm trying to figure out what people are using out there to connect their cameras to these scopes. Seems like my rig isn't ideal since it sticks out about 10" from the visual back and shows significant vignetting. The off-axis guider is pretty much useless since the focus point of the EP is different than the camera. I know there's a better way!
Here's the rig (in order): stock visual back, meade micro-focuser, adapter, Meade f/6.3 reducer/flattener, off-axis guider, T-ring, Canon 300D.

It shouldn't be THAT far off that you cannot use a parfocal ring. Like what comes with the Meade LPI and DSI cameras.Or just tighten the setscrew without having the eyepiece fully inserted. If the eyepiece needs to be further "in"" not out, then maybe you can take off the 1.25 holder in the off axis guider and replace it with a shorter one?

It's 95% focused if I slide the EP WAY out. I've got a guidescope now so I really don't need the O.A. guider anymore except that its adapting the T-ring threads to those of the focal reducer. I'm trying to get an idea of what folks are using so I can replace it with a flip mirror, adapter, or something else.
Faltered - Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Hopefully this thread turns into something that everyone getting into imaging can benefit from. I know that web shopping all the numerous adapters out there has been anything but easy.

Check your focal reducer. If it's made in Japan, the focal length is 250mm (?). If this is the case, you need a short extension tube after the reducer, before the off-axix guider.
Actually, a quick test would be to put the reducer on the other side of the micro-focus...
If your reducer is made in China, the focal length is a lot less. (140mm I think?)... and you'd actualy need to get the EP close, not farther away.

Its made in China. I'll have to try the OA again - been quite awhile since I even put an EP into it. Maybe I was backwards on my memory of the focus problems. Regardless, I wasn't really planning on keeping it anyway.

I have my 6.3 FR on the forward side of the focuser as seen in the image below. For my 3.3 FR it has to be on the backside or I can't focus. This image is from my old fork mount but the setup is still the same on my new mount.

Here is one of my experimental imaging setups. It is a DSI-C with a 180 degree 8mm f3.5 fisheye lens attached. The camera was a test of my homemade All Sky Cam. As you can see from the picture the cover was a borrowed bell jar from my wife’s anniversary clock (she wasn’t overly impressed with my ingenuity).
I was surprise even though the curved top caused some distortion it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. To keep condensation from forming inside the bell jar part of the bottom was left open and the fan I had previously attached to the DSI was turned on. I may do some more testing with my DSI-Pro when my wife isn’t looking.

That's a pretty cool idea Marcus! Would a couple packs of desicant solve the moisture issue? Also maybe you could just make a glass or lexan box instead of raiding the wife's hutch. Just a thought...

Desicant would work but that would require the cover be sealed. That would allow the heat to built up too much.
The thing I like about the bell jar is water runs right off.

I'll assemble it again and post some images. I can't find the old ones. I don't have the DSI-C anymore as I gave it to a co-worker, but I swapped the front plate with my DSI-Pro before I did so I should still be able to bring it to focus.

Yup, I agree with you. Sometimes, I just can't visualise the equipments they talk about.
