Beginning Imaging:
MichaelW:
M33:
Loc: Washoe Zephyr Observatory
Date/Time: October 14th-25th 2006.
Orion 80mm ED on CGE.
SBIG ST2000XM Astrodon filter set.
R=7x10m;G=7x10m;B=7x10m 210 minutes total data.
No luminance.
Temerature at -15c.
All Data was acquired in CCDSoft. 8x10 darks median combined in Maxim D/L as calibration set points. Each red, green and blue were stacked and combined in Maxim D/L after the images were calibrated. Color combined in PS, with levels and curves. Astronomy Tools plug in to reduce star size and reduce halo's. Paintshop Pro provided final image scaling and reduction as well as output to JPEG. And it couldn't have been done without the help and guidance on my first color image proccessing from the fine folks of CN!

There were no entries from the Solar System Forum this month.
However, I can already see that they will be back with a vengeance in next month's poll!

This is my first successful astro photo so I'm kinda proud of it, even if I don't win out.
NGC 1977, M43, M42: Taken on Oct 30, 2006 Minolta X-370 35mm prime focus using Fuji Provia 400f positive (slide) film. Single 15 minute exposure. Camera mounted prime focus to my LXD 75, 10inch Schidmt/Newtonian @ f/4. Autotracking done by Autostar Suite, manualing guided thru my Meade 90mm achro refractor. Film pushed 2 stops by film lab. Slide scanned by me on my Epson 620 scanner/printer. Final processing done with Adobe Photoshop Elements.
