It was a very special honor to be chosen as winner Erika. Michael's image of M33 is gorgeous and deserves equal praise and recognition. Thanks so much!

Well, thank you Rich! I certainly appreciate the comments particularly from someone as talented as you. I know that I have a hard time sketching stick people so I really appreciate your efforts and fine work. I have only just started imaging and this was my first color image so I anticipate many more images to come and hope to go head to head with you again as I think this challenge brought out several people as looking back there doesn't appear to be any recent contest with so many votes. You clearly took the voting by storm as I think from the first dozen votes it was 60/40 and it stayed that way all through the contest. Your sketch was definately fantastic and worthy of winning. I know because had it not been MY image I would have had a tough time deciding. So congratulations to you and I hope we get to do this again soon!

Michael W--If you continue to produce such outstanding images as a beginner, CN will have to make you Rookie of the Year.

Rich, Congatulations. I've viewed your gallery and all your sketches are great. I'm an artist myself (I'm working now on an oil self portrait for my avatar) and can certainly appreciate whats good, and you definatly deserve to win with this sketch. Though I've never tried my hand at astronomical sketching (it looks pretty tough, especially the level of professionalism you've obtained) you've given me inspiration to give it a go. Phil

Thanks Phil, it really heartens me to see so many new astronomical sketchers posting their fine work on CN. I'm certain I'll enjoy your contributions and hope to see you at the Sketching Forum soon.
