You may have recently noticed a pop-up saying that as of some time in January 2007 your version of their software will no longer be supported.
Using the supplied links will lead you to a page that seems to suggest that from this point on you will have to pay for AVG anti-virus software.
What they don't make obvious is that they are still offering a free home version of their new Anti-Virus software(AVG version7.5)
Somewhere on the page that is linked to the pop-up you can find the proper link to the download page...
Or
You can go to their home page and click on Products in the upper left hand corner of the page and that will lead you to their download page and scroll down to the bottom and find the link to the free edition...
Or
You can just click on this link and go directly to it!
Your choice...
Whichever option you choose,
Good Luck & Clear Skies

Thank you, Gary, for putting that info together!
I only see that pop-up message when I reboot, which only happens about every 2-3 weeks, so I keep forgetting about the need to update to the new free version. I probably should do it now while I'm thinking about it, but it's beddy-bye time...

I saw this a long time ago and was able to figure it out, but it was a bit obscure...thanks for posting, Gary...this is an excellent, and free!, virus protector...I use AVG on all my systems and recommend it to all my friends.

Gary, Many thanks for the "heads up" with this. I was ready to pop for the "full boat" AVG program as I thought my one and only free year was up. Clear Dark Skies! Bob

I have 7.5 also........be careful if you use CClearer.....it will cause the free version to be non-functional. Then you have to download and reinstall it again to correct the program problem......CCleaner causes the program to refuse to install virus updates....it gives a message of "your copy of AVG is damaged" . A reinstall fixes it.

I use AVG 7.5 and Ccleaner without any problems.
both run like a charm!
maybe you should try BeClean!!
